Maschinarium – the funicular railway's eye-opening museum
Located at the Lichtenhain summit station, our Maschinarium (machinery room) takes you behind the scenes of the funicular railway and its technology.
The Maschinarium shows you the technology that powers the funicular: sheave wheels, motors and brakes. A tour of the machine house shows just how the system works, explaining the design and features particular to funicular railways.
